Clinical Quality Assurance (QA), is one of the most important department within the clinical trial industry. The QA professionals have the responsibility of keeping all the quality systems in the organization operational, and to ensure that the organization is adhering to various guidelines and is in compliance to applicable statutory regulations. QA professionals commonly find employment in pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations or independent auditing firms.

A career in the QA department generally starts as a Quality Assurance Executive or Quality Assurance Associate. They gradually move to more senior levels such as Quality Assurance Officer or Manager, Quality Assurance Auditor etc.

These are some main examples of the tasks performed by a QA professional:
